We had such a great time with our dear friends, the Morris', this weekend. They invited us to go camping with them at Halibut Cove. We drove to Homer (about 4 1/2 hours away) and loaded up Jamin's boat. We went in the boat on the ocean to get to the Cove, which took about 35 min. Upon our arrival at the PERFECT little beach camping area (there was even an outhouse!), we commenced setting up camp. There were some SWEET tent platforms already there, but both of our 6-person families had brought the mondo "family reunion" tent, so neither fit on the platforms. We set ours up on the biggest platform, and about 1/3rd of it hung over the edge. Thankfully, the Morris' also had brought their smaller tent, so they pitched it on the smaller platform.
We had rain the first day, so we made a big tarp covering for our kitchen/campfire area. The kids had great fun getting wet and dirty. The second day (Sunday) was beautiful, although still cold. The sun was shining, so we went clamming. That was my favorite part of the trip. WHAT FUN!!!
